Spooky goings on...

Dead & Awake:

So the 3rd week was a week of night shoots, scary stories, very cool lighting and all round fun!
A lot was going on and I got to learn a hell of a lot about lighting. As our lighting guy disappeared in the first week, thankfully our Director is experienced in many areas, and a fab tutor to learn from!
Our amazing location was a big help in bringing the right atmosphere to the cast and film, especially after hearing all the spooky happenings that go on in the house from the owner. It made it all the more fun! Secluded in the countryside and consisting of a spooky priory, stables and acres of land, it was perfect for both the production and the cast's leisure time in between scenes.

This week felt like the last week as many of the cast finished their filming and some of crew were leaving as no longer needed. I am lucky to have met and had the pleasure of working with such a brilliant and professional team.
 What are they looking at?

We even had the pleasure of adorable puppies, kittens and foals on Location.

The Kent location: A lovely country house next to St Augustine's Pirory, Ashford, Kent.

We were allowed to take over the conservatory as our production base!

Some of the crazy but lovely Cast & Crew after our last night of week long night shoots!

Week 2...

Dead & Awake:

This week I unfortunately was only available for a couple of days, so missed out on a lot of the action. Day one went well with a kidnapping for all to see. The second day we had a car breakdown while on the pick up rounds which meant I could not get picked up and missed out on a day filming in Kent. Will be making up for it next week!
Not much to say really. So I will leave you with some snaps from Monday's Shoot...

Lets make a Movie...

Dead & Awake:

The first week is over and all seems to have slipped into place. There have been some major crew changes, which is unbelievable at how unreliable people can be when working on lower budget projects. In my opinion you should treat all projects with the same enthusiasm and hard work! But that aside, the group we now have are well suited and a pleasure to work with.

This week saw us get dark and deep with some of the more raw scenes, involving a dark basement and adventurous lighting! As well as filming in the pub situated below the studio and the park across from us. Filming in the studio and the surrounding areas gave us familiar and easy access to do the scenes needed at a good speed. The actors have really taken on the roles well and it is amazing at how much of a brilliant cast we have. Right, think it's time I will leave you with some sneak pic's from the set...

All Go...

Dead & Awake:

Just under a week till filming and the production office has been busy tying up the last bits before shooting starts next week! The cast is ready to start rehearsing, contracts have been sent (by myself personally), last crew members are coming on board and now I'm busy writing up the call sheets (something I enjoy doing) so everyone knows where they have to be and when. I always find if you start off with a good simple template and do the sheet day-by-day, it becomes a less time consuming task, but at the end of the day it is a very helpful tool while on a shoot!
Monday will see a full day of rehearsals, as well as costume fitting and a good 'get to know each other better' drink for cast and crew - (I will defiantly be attending LOL).
It's all hands on deck now, a really exciting time of the production, when we are nearly there!...
